Honourable Michelle Rowland MP, Attorney-General

SHER FOUNDATION LTD was honoured to meet with the Honourable Michelle Rowland MP, Attorney-General and Federal Member for Greenway, to share the impact of our work supporting culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) men’s mental health in Western Sydney.

The meeting offered a critical opportunity to brief the Attorney-General on the unique barriers CALD men face in accessing mental health services—particularly in Greenway’s diverse suburbs where SHER operates. We shared data on engagement outcomes from our programs, including structured sport, psychosocial support, and social connection initiatives for migrant men aged 18–70.

Ms Rowland expressed strong support for our community-led, stigma-reducing approach, and acknowledged SHER’s leadership in reaching groups often excluded from mainstream services. She recognised the value of early intervention and the need for culturally tailored models that resonate with migrant and refugee men.

We are grateful to Ms Rowland for her time, advocacy, and her deep understanding of Greenway’s cultural landscape. Her commitment to supporting practical, localised mental health initiatives is vital for ensuring equity in health access and outcomes.

SHER FOUNDATION LTD looks forward to continuing this important dialogue and ensuring that CALD men in Greenway have the support, connection, and culturally safe spaces they need to thrive.
