Digital Confidence for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Seniors Workshop
On 7 July 2026, I had the honour of representing the Hon. Jihad Dib, the Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government, at the Digital Confidence for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Seniors Workshop, held in Cabramatta. I thank the SHER Foundation, NSW Telco Authority and CASS CARE for organising this valuable workshop. For our diverse multicultural communities, this workshop was particularly important, as seniors face language barriers or have limited digital literacy and can be more vulnerable to scams. Last year almost 85 per cent of people aged 50 and older believed they had come across, or been a victim of, a scam. The workshop went through with our seniors some of the essential digital services, focusing on scam awareness, cyber safety and using government services such as myGov and Service NSW. I thank the organising team for helping my local seniors build confidence and independence when using modern technology.
